What is Coumadin?
Coumadin is a prescription drug which is frequently used to prevent blood clots in an individual.  Blood clots are a serious condition which can lead to heart attacks and/or strokes in the individual who suffers from the blood clots.  For many who suffer from the potential incidence of blood clots, taking Coumadin each day will reduce the risk of such occurring.  Before you take the anticoagulant Coumadin, it is important that you speak with your doctor and be apprised of the safe uses of Coumadin.
What Happens at a Coumadin Clinic?

The patient will have their blood drawn and the lab technician will evaluate the blood draw to ascertain the level of Coumadin and make sure it is on target.  It is a good safeguard for patients on Coumadin to take advantage of as it will reassure them that their Coumadin levels are in target and right for them.

How Can You Safely Take Coumadin?

First and foremost, before you take Coumadin and actually before you will be able to take Coumadin, you must consult with a doctor who prescribes the medication for you. Your doctor will provide you with the pros and cons of taking this drug and tell you how to safely take it. Therefore, when you have any questions regarding the safe use of Coumadin, always ask your Coumadin clinic FL doctor so that you get the correct answer from a medical health professional.

You should also be aware of certain things which will cause Coumadin to become dangerous to your system or enable it to not work as well. Certain natural supplements can deplete the effectiveness of Coumadin as well as other prescription medications. In addition, these medications and supplements may not just make the Coumadin ineffective but may in fact pose a risk to your health when the medications and Coumadin interact. With this said, always ask your Coumadin clinic FL doctor about any possible interactions and let them know exactly what you are currently taking in addition to the Coumadin.
